These animations were created as a concept for a Close Combat system for the game Halo Wars. I wanted more dynamic action than soldiers standing 5 feet apart shooting at each other. The feature was implemented with great success. And was the foundation for the Spartan Hijack ability.
Orc Must Die!
I animated the Orcs in the game Orcs Must Die!. Since we wanted up to 200 Orcs on the screen at once it was a reel challenge to get an expressive rig with only 14 bones total. Notice the joints on the character above are parted. This was to use rigid skinning so the GPU could render more characters at once.
